Integrating technology into the science classroom takes time and purposeful planning. What may keep us from technology are barriers such as access to technology, resources, desire to learn and plan with techno, and many others.

PhET Simulations for science

Access a variety of science simulations and educator created lessons that could support student learning. Some are useful in creating inquiry lessons (i.e. 5E model).

  • Easy to use, gives immediate score - Teacher

  • Use app on phone to scan answer documents

  • Useful with multiple choice Assessments

  • Provides average class score and analysis per question

QR Codes in the classroom

Integrating technology into the classroom can feel overwhelming. It can be but when you are willing to try for the benefit of student learning, that frustration subsides.

 

QR codes can be used to connect extra information to a HW or class activity. They can also be used to create a resource page, teaching students to interact with the technology.

Provides 3-4 simple steps to generate a QR for a video, website, etc. The QR code is then copied and attached to any form of media.

Teach Like A Champion by Doug Lamov

Lamov explains different strategies that can promote student engagement, classroom mangagement, and student-student interactions.

 

Below I demonstrate the strategy, "At Bats".  Students are given multiple opportunities to master the content. You will also see students learning from their peers.
